One of the most anticipated role-playing video games of the year, "Dragon Age: Inquisition" officially rolls out to Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and the PC on November 18.
Developed by BioWare, "Dragon Age: Inquisition" also came with an official gameplay launch trailer that was released the day before the video game rolled out.
Time described the clip as "the most epic video game launch trailer ever," befitting a video game that the report portrays as an open-world epic with a "Game of Thrones" aesthetic.
The game is the third installment to the very successful Dragon Age franchise, coming in as sequel to "Dragon Age: Origins" and "Dragon Age II."
Although gamers can now start playing and enjoy the video game, BioWare reiterated that the next set of future add-on content or DLC to "Dragon Age: Inquisition" will be released first on Xbox One, reports the Examiner.
This is consistent with the company's pronouncement made at E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) 2014 held in Los Angeles, California on June 16 - 18.
"While this means that gamers on other platforms will have to wait longer to play the DLC, BioWare is trying to convince fans that the exclusivity (given to Microsoft) is better for everyone," notes the report.
BioWare Edmonton General Manager Aaryn Flynn discussed the advantage of partnering with Xbox One for the game's add-on content during an interview by Xbox Live's Larry Hryb, reports DualShockers.
Flynn said that focusing on one gaming platform first would enable BioWare to complete the DLC faster, points out the Examiner.
"Releasing DLC on the Xbox One ahead of other platforms helps us get content out earlier than we normally would," he explained.
"It's great for us to be able to bring out additional content for 'Dragon Age: Inquisition.' Even though it's really a big game, there (are) always new opportunities in the (Dragon Age) Universe to tell more stories and to present interesting new things," Flynn said.
"I can't talk about the little details of what you're gonna do in this adventure yet, but it is pretty cool. I think people are going to appreciate it even more as it has more to do with the Dragon Age Universe especially inside Inquisition," he added.
The BioWare GM also hinted that the add-on content to "Dragon Age: Inquisition" have something to do with in-game management to enable players to see the faction-building systems planned in the near future, notes the Examiner.
