There are still two widely-anticipated products coming from Apple, which the American tech giant already teased to leading to its launching events in September and October.
One is the Apple Watch which is speculated to be released in February 2015 and the Macbook Air Retina which is widely believed to be launched in the first half of next year.
In fact, the 12-inch Macbook Air Retina was initially rumored to be part of the October 16 Apple iPad event but we all know that it did not materialize. Apple made no announcement of its Macbook laptops during the event, notes BGR in an October 15 report.
Retina or Retina display is a marketing term coined by Apple for its devices that have resolutions or pixel density of 300 or more, which are very high for a normal person's view.
It seems that plans have changed for Apple with regard to the Macbook Air Retina and speculations are now rife that the company would be launching its latest line of Macbook laptops during the coming holidays, reports Christian Today.
Citing a report written in Chinese, from Taiwan's Industrial and Commercial Times, the Australian edition of the International Business Times also believes that Apple may indeed launch its refreshed Macbook Air line before the end of 2014.
Analysts believe that Apple could have included the official announcement of Macbook Air Retina during the October iPad event had it not for the delay of delivery of Broadwell Core M chips from Intel needed for the new Macbook laptop line.
The Taiwan-based site has reported that the problem has already been addressed and the Intel Broadwell Core M chips, which would give the Macbook Air a long-lasting battery life and extremely higher resolution, are already available.
"Now that the issue is (already) addressed, it is presumed that the Macbook Air Retina will be added to the long list of Apple's holiday treats for its patrons," states Christian Today.
Apple's Macbook laptop line remains competitive despite the continuously declining market sales of the PC, notes the IB Times.
"This is the reason why Macbook updates and refreshed (or new) lines gain as much attention. The product line can usher in new functionalities which other manufacturers can also adopt," the report observed.
Apple has not made any official announcement regarding the Macbook Air Retina so a specific release date and the price of the device are still up in the air.
