Nexus phones are no longer the first phones to get the new Android 5.0 Lollipop.

In a statement issued by LG on November 9 revealed that its G3 will be the first one to get the Android update.

"LG Electronics (LG) this week will begin rolling out the highly anticipated Android 5.0 Lollipop upgrade for G3 smartphones starting in Poland this week, to be followed by other key markets in the near future. LG, the first global smartphone manufacturer to offer the Lollipop upgrade in 2014, will subsequently announce an upgrade schedule for other LG mobile devices," the statement read.

LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company President and CEO Dr. Jong-seok Park was quoted in the statement saying the company "is absolutely committed to give their customers the best mobile experiences available." He also said that their top priority was to bring the Android Lollipop to G3 owners "as soon as possible."

LG said the new Lollipop update brings a new design, language, shadows, and animations.

New lock screens will also be available, as promised. Also, expect for better notifications as there will be a new layout and color scheme.

Also, there will be a new security feature "enabling users to unlock their smartphone when it is physically near a pre-registered Bluetooth device such as the LG G Watch or G Watch R." It will also have the Android Runtime (ART) software.

"The new features and improvements in Android 5.0 will bring a whole new user experience to the G3 and make it even better than it already is," Dr. Jong-seok Park was again quoted as saying.

Meanwhile, Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 users will also get the Lollipop update this week.

Artem Russakovskii of Android Police was quoted by BGR saying that the new Lollipop update will be available to Nexus users by November 12. It was delayed due to some bug problems.

Google Nexus said on Twitter that the "Android 5.0 Lollipop update will be delivered over-the-air to [users] devices automatically."

Google said on its blog that the new 6-inch Nexus 6 packed with Quad HD display and a 13 megapixel camera and the 8.9 inch Nexus 9 tablet will be released with the Android 5.0 Lollipop update. The Android update will be available to other devices shortly after its release of the two new Nexus phones, it said.

The Nexus 9 is known to be the "first tablet designed for the Android 5.0 Lollipop update," as claimed by Google Nexus in a separate Twitter post.

In a statement posted on its blog site, Motorola confirmed that more of its devices will probably get the Lollipop update. This includes Moto X 1st Generation, Moto X 2nd Generation, Moto G1st Generation, Moto G 2nd Generation, Moto G with 4G LTE, Moto E, Droid Ultra, Droid Maxx, and Droid Mini.
