After a relatively dismal lineup of free games this November for PlayStation Plus subscribers, Sony is preparing for a big rebound in December.
In contrast to how the company withheld the November Instant Game Collection up to the very last minute, Sony has already given a sneak peak on its free games lineup for December and January even this early, reports IGN.
"In December, we're excited to add 'Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition' and 'Secret Ponchos' to the PlayStation 4's IGC lineup," reveals Sony it PlayStation Blog.
Developed by NetherRealm, the superhero fighting game based on the fictional universe of DC Comics will be free to all PlayStation Plus subscribers on PS4, notes IGN.
"Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition" is the first full budget retail release to be offered to PlayStation Plus subscribers, which gamers of Sony's latest console have been waiting for since last year, observes the International Business Times.
Sony is quite proud of its impending major release in December, stating in the PlayStation Blog: "Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition" is the first AAA Blu-ray title to join the Instant Game Collection for PS4, and we think you'll really enjoy playing it."
"Secret Ponchos" on the other hand is an online shooter fighting multiplayer video game developed by Switchblade Monkeys, an independent development company, cites IGN.
For January 2015, Sony announced that it will have in its IGC lineup "Infamous: First Light," and the atmospheric puzzle game "The Swapper."
Sony normally comes up with five to six free titles for PlayStation Plus members every month and it is expected that the company will reveal the other titles in due course, opines the International Business Times.
Fans and gamers think that the company obviously wanted to make up for its below expectations release of free games this November so much that it has made its announcements too early for December and January.
The company has yet to announce its list of free games for both PlayStation 3 and PS Vita, notes the IB Times.
Sony's announcement of free games for December and January also came with an apology of sort to gamers for the delayed launching of the Driveclub PS Plus edition.
"We want you to know that we're committed to providing Driveclub PS Plus edition to members when it's ready. The Evolution team is working hard to make it a reality," the company said in the PlayStation Blog.
