Want to get an app from Amazon Appstore? Don't worry! It has been made easier now. In the past, Android users, who want to get and install an application from the Amazon Appstore to their devices, would have to install the appstore first to get it. Some say that this is a bit difficult and tricky since the Amazon Appstore is not available on Google Play, where most Android users usually get their apps.

However, TechCrunch discovered something fishy about the main Amazon app.

According to its report, the main Amazon app has a new feature and the company has been keeping mum about it. Techcrunch reported that the new feature was unveiled "quietly" last month. The main Amazon application has been updated. Now, it has a more "accessible" "fully-functional Appstore" that can easily be found on the main app's "Shop by Department section," it said.

If you just take time to scroll over and browse the updated main Amazon app, then you will exactly see that there is a new category called "Apps & Games" located at the top of the list of Departments. Techcrunch noted that this is not just limited to the apps available on the Amazon Appstore app. "[I]t's actually a complete app store in and of itself, tucked away right within the main Amazon application," Techcrunch said.

That new feature, The Verge, noted, has already been out for "about six weeks or so" but obviously not a lot of people have been aware of it.

Techcrunch said that the new feature was launched early September. It reportedly coincided with the launch of Amazon's "Prime Instant Video." With the new update of the Amazon App for Android, the company said in a press release that Prime members in the U.S., U.K., and Germany can now stream and watch thousands of movies and TV series on their Android devices. All they have to do is install the updated Amazon app.

Some of the TV series that can be watched by Prime members are "The Sopranos," "True Blood," "The Wire," "Downton Abbey," "Under the Dome," "24," "Boardwalk Empire," "Six Feet Under," and "Alpha House." Even shows for kids such as "SpongeBob SquarePants," "Dora the Explorer," "Team Umizoomi," "Tumble Leaf," "Creative Galaxy," and "Annedroids," are also available for streaming, the statement added.

Aside from movies and TV episodes, millions of songs, Kindle books and thousands of audiobooks are also available, the statement read.

Paul Cousineau, Mobile Shopping's director, also said in the statement cited that "millions" of their customers already have the new Amazon app and they can have a more convenient "shopping on the go."

"At Amazon, we are always innovating on behalf of our customers and we look forward to receiving their feedback on this enhanced shopping experience," Cousineau said in the statement.

The new Amazon app is available on Google Play or you can download it here. Upon installing, open the Amazon App, tap the menu icon, and finally select the Amazon Instant Video. That is, if you want to watch movies or television series. If you want to check the games and apps, just look for the "Shop by Department section."
