AT&T announced on Monday plans to make available its new LG Escape 4G LTE Android smartphone on September 16th. AT&T is launching the smartphone for "consumers on a budget" seeking high-performance connectivity, processing and camera features with a qHD display. It will be available in AT&T retail stores and online for $49.99 with a two-year service agreement.
"LG Escape allows users to capture and share whatever life sends their way with its powerful dual-core processor, true-to-life screen and smart camera features," James Fishler, senior vice president of marketing and go-to market operations for LG Electronics USA said in a statement. "And on AT&T's expansive network, consumers can get the best possible experience with Escape by using its LTE capabilities to the fullest."
The LG Escape features the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform, a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and has 4GB memory. The 4.3-inch qHD IPS display has enhanced image clarity and boasts true-to-life color rendering. Additionally, it supports data sharing with Android Beam and Near-Field Communication technology.
The smartphone comes with the QuickMemo feature, which lets users add notes or decorate an image with their finger and then share with friends. It has 1080p HD video recording capabilities and users can also create customized videos by utilizing the Video Wiz editing application to add themes, music and text to videos.
While on the topic of photography, this phone features a 5 megapixel camera and a whole bunch of functionalities. First off, it has auto-focus, of course. The continuous shot feature allows users to capture multiple images in a row. Lastly, Time Catch Shot gets rid of shutter lag by taking several pictures before the shutter button is ever pushed. Additionally, the device has a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera and camcorder.
The LG Escape also features a newly-created browser toolbar extension, dubbed Skyfire Horizon, that optimizes the phone for access to social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. Finally, this LG device has 4G LTE support on all AT&T networks. For additional information, visit www.att.com.
