'The Sims 4' Download Release Date Last Night; Day One Patch Includes 'Create a Sim' Fix

The much-anticipated video game, "Sims 4," is set to launch on September 2, Tuesday at 12 a.m. ET. However, gamers will immediately discover an available "Day One Patch" to fix the "Create a Sim" mode.

According to Cinemablend.com, the game creator, Maxis, already presented the patch, so individuals who pre-load the game using Origin can also start pre-loading the patch. They just need to launch the Origin client and initiate the download process. The launch time will be simultaneous throughout the United States.

In a report by The Epoch Times, players can download Sims 4 then launch it immediately upon release if it was pre-ordered using Origin. TS4News.com stated, "The option to download the game and have it ready to launch as soon as it's released is currently rolling out to everyone who pre-ordered a copy through Origin. When it's available in your area, simply launch Origin and hover your cursor over the game tile in your Game Library to check if it's available. Once The Sims 4 is pre-loaded, your game will unlock when it launches in your region."

The release date for North America, Russia and Asia is on September 2, 2014, The Epoch Times said. Australia, Japan and Europe, except the United Kingdom, will have the game available on September 4. India, South Africa, New Zealand and the United Kingdom will have the game available on September 5.

Maxis released the final Sims 4 trailer in the last week of August. The Epoch times added that several features in The Sims 3 will no longer be available in the new version.

The Day One Patch includes a variety of fixes for severe crashes, bugs and gallery issues, GameSpot noted. A couple of crashes in "Create a Sim" and "Build Mode" were fixed. Bug fixes on "Shine on Men's Suit", "Tiki Bar" and others were made. Fixes on dates with the Reaper and hibernating babies were also made. Players can now modify the face and body via Manage Worlds. Through this option, gamers can add a new Sim via Create a Sim to a played household. Other gallery issues involving lots with scaled objects and saving a lot to the library were also fixed.

The Sims 4 simulation game allows players to make new Sims with advanced intelligence and realistic emotions. The new game features creative and intuitive tools to make unique Sims and houses.

Meanwhile, according to Venture Beat, the Origin Digital Deluxe Edition will include the Life of the Party Pack, along with the "Up All Night" content, the "Awesome Animal Hats" content and the Sims 4 digital soundtrack "so you can listen to the soundtrack while you're not playing the Sims 4."
