Time is an investment - and so is the way by which we measure it. Smartwatches have become relevant gears today, providing more than just time as they function to be much like wearable companions.

Forbes reported on Apple's trending teaser "Wish we could say more", pertaining to the September 9 release of its latest products that will add to the plethora of i's. The iPhone 6 is the most reverberating of them all. But of course, the iWatch is definitely on our watch list.

Apart from the possible further release of the iWatch, something else that makes consumers irk is its pricing, where Apple usually swipes the rest out. Forbes mentioned of a July 22nd patent which gives us an idea of the iWatch's launch date and the whopping cost that is alleged to be $400 - roughly around 50% above its array of counterparts.

The first wearable Androids from Samsung and LG were priced at only $200. Wearables provided by Samsung, Google, Intel, LG, Motorola and Timex are all in the A-list, but Forbes said that the key to market share lies in the hands of the manufacturers.

Apple has definitely branded itself to be on top of the price game, with its promise of premium devices. However, Business Insider reported that Apple "hasn't finalized the starting price for its wrist device, and may or may not announce that particular portion at its Sept. 9 event". Its sources also indicate that consumers can expect varied pricing for different models, which might include cheaper versions.

Talking about variety, PC magazine reported on how Apple might consider offering iWatches with different screen sizes. The source suggests the need for Apple to "deal with fashion and form." With such pricing, can form, fashion, and function really blend conveniently?

Apple fans can only wait 'til September 9th to find out what Apple's way of telling time will be like.

In terms of the iWatch's features, Know Your Mobile noted of a report claiming that Apple has been working on a feature which aims to predict heart attacks before occurrence. Now this can be a total breakthrough for medical technology. The idea builds on the premise of listening to the sound of blood flow, primarily through the wearer's radial artery. Eventually, notifications will be sent to the wearer if some phenomena are to be expected, so that he may take the necessary precautions.

Another feature mentioned by Know Your Mobile is the step detection technology. The patent in question describes a wrist-based pedometer. Expectedly, it functions to detect steps as they are - but Apple innovates by having the iWatch venture further into location technology. The source explains that the algorithms are capable of utilizing location data in calculating the number of steps made by the wearer.
