Coded as Google's flagship smartphone, the Nexus 6 (aka Nexus X) is set to feature a wide-panel screen that promises rivalry with none other than Apple's upcoming iPhone 6. On top of a possible monstrous display, its 64-bit architecture is also something to look forward to.

A phablet with a 5.2-inch screen - this is the promise of the possible Nexus 6. International Business Times AU reportws that this will be Google's initiation in the hybrid arena of competitive smartphones, granted that Moto X+1 is eventually "repurposed" as the Nexus 6 (or Nexus X).

Moto X+1 is known to be the same phone that went through  FCC filing and was misinterpreted to have a 149 mm screen, according to Droid Life. The source ditches the idea of such a screen, claiming that "it's just not possible."

It was later on revealed that the 149 mm specification is the measure of the entire physical phone, and not just the screen. Nevertheless, a 5.2-inch display is sufficient to land Moto X+1 in the phablet family.

With regards to its branding name, Nexus 6 may not be the best usable choice for Google, as disputes over the label went from the family of author Philip K. Dick earlier. NDTV Gadgets mentioned about Wall Street Journal reporting back in 2010 that the author's family had claimed the rights to the word Nexus.

The allegation was made prior to the release of the Nexus One, making it a clear infringement of Dick's novel "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?." Apparently, the Androids were called Nexus-6. Dick's daughter, Isa Dick Hackett, opened up, "We feel this is a clear infringement of our intellectual-property rights".

As reported earlier by International Business Times AU, Nexus 6/X will feature a 64-bit operation, just like Apple. However, Google's plans are really unknown up to date. The source mentioned of reports about Nexus X as a tablet, while some imply similarities with the Google Shamu.

The Nexus 6 is possibly the first device to run on Android 5.0 Lemon Meringue Pie. Some more rumored specs include top-speed 2.7 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor and Adreno 420 GPU.

Imaging specifications are never out of the picture - a 13MP rear camera is expected. In addition, a storage configuration worth 32GB is provided, without room for expansion of any means. It might also include a Quad HD display offering 1440 x 2560 pixels.

Those eyeing the release of the Moto X+1 can wait until late September or early October. On the other hand, the Nexus 6/X is anticipated to land on Google Play Store before or within November 2014. NDTV Gadgets specify October 31 as the launch date.
