Quoted as Korea's next generation flagship phablet, feeds on the camera specifications of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 circulated among the tech savvy. According to GSMArena, the product shall present a "16MP Sony IMX240 camera sensor with optical image stabilization" - with the supposed addition of a new feature called Side Touch. SamMobile specifies the Optical Image Stabilization or "OIS" as being capable of shooting UHD (3840×2160) video at 30FPS.

Now this could seem like "recycling" for those who got used to the IMX240 camera sensor, since Samsung has utilized the exact thing for the Korean Galaxy S5 Broadband LTE-A (SM-G906S/L/K). However, what makes Note 4 interesting is the incorporation of OIS which the LTE-A did not possess.

Samsung understands how bad we fancy our selfies. With regards to capturing our favourite shots, the Note 4 shall feature a 3.7MP front camera - a break from its trend of using 2.1MP over the previous years. In addition, SamMobile reports that such front camera will have the ability to capture images and videos in WQHD (2560×1440) resolution. Aside from the presence of all camera features interfaced in the Galaxy S5 such as the HDR Live, Selective Focus, Fast Auto-focus, and some others, four new camera modes are also set to take part in delivering a quality Samsung selfie experience: Wide Selfie, Selfie, Selfie Alarm, and Create-a-GIF-File.

The Side Touch is one fresh feature. SamMobile notes that Samsung intentionally did not include it in Galaxy S5. This heightens the interest of those eyeing the Note 4, as it is basically a sensor placed in the bottom right side of the device. It is located right where a camera button lies at - which gives us the idea and you guessed it right: tap the invisible button and another picture of yours comes popping!

GSMArena also tells of another feature that is a gesture-based method, which activates the device with the screen off. This is practically a shortcut that allows users "to gain quick access to the camera, while the screen is off, by tapping the screen with two fingers and swiping them apart", according to SamMobile's trusted sources.

Specific camera resolutions of the Note 4 include the following: for pictures; 16MP (5312×2988 | 16:9), 12MP (3984×2988 | 4:3), 9MP (2976×2976 | 1:1), 8MP (3264×2448 | 4:3), 6MP (3264×1836 | 16:9) and 2.4MP (2048×1152 | 16:9). Video resolution options include: UHD (3840×2160 | 16:9 | 30FPS), WQHD (2560×1440 | 16:9 | 30FPS), Full HD (1920×1080 | 16:9 | 30/60FPS), HD (1280×720 | 16:9 | 15/30/120FPS), and VGA (640×480 | 4:3 | 30FPS).

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 sure promises a lot about exciting features and quality photos. Soon we'll see if it meets our selfie expectations.
