'The Last of Us Remastered' PS4 DLC Makes Gamers Angry - Find Out Why

Can too much of "The Last of Us" be a bad thing?

One of the most popular games on the PlayStation 3, "The Last of Us" made a successful jump to the next-gen PlayStation 4 console as "The Last of Us: Remastered." With improved frame rate and better graphics overall, several downloadable content (DLC) packs were also promised by game developer Naughty Dog.

However, some quarters have expressed anger toward the makers of the action-adventure survival horror hit.

There was clear excitement from the gaming community when "The Last of Us" made the jump to the PS4 as the DLC packs promised to enhance gameplay further. Priced at $6.99, the "Grit and Gear Bundle" consists of six items. The "Gestures Bundle" includes three new gestures and costs $2.49. Meanwhile, the "Professional Sports Bundle" features seven new headgear pieces at $7.99.

Load the Game.com reports that more downloadable content (with at least one new map as well as several new weapons) will be released in two weeks.

As exciting as this news might be for fans of the game, some players have expressed frustration with Naughty Dog for milking the highly profitable game for all its worth, putting a tag at every DLC available. The same site noted that.

Set in 2033, "The Last of Us" postulated a future inhabited by cannibalistic monsters infected by a mutant fungus. Single parent Joel, his friend Tess, and daughter Sarah meet Ellie, a teenager who might be immune to the virus. Fighting off the infected while also dealing with hostile human survivors, players could use a variety of weapons as well as stealth tactics to advance.

With the "Remastered" edition for the PS4, IGN.com noted the 60 frames per second framerate and 1080p resolution as the most notable improvements over the earlier PS3 game.

The other big change came about due to the better DualShock 4's better triggers compare to the DualShock 3. The speakers in the DualShock 4 can also play audio diaries and sound effects such as the flashlight clicking.

What seems to be bothering gamers more than anything is that "The Last of Us: Remastered" doesn't have a Season Pass option unlike the earlier PS3 version. In addition, some are accusing Naughty Dog of providing misleading information as "Remastered" doesn't have all the DLC that was present in the PS3 edition.

In response to these complaints, Naughty Dog community strategist said, "We want you to play with new gear. Also, if you don't want to buy now, we have bundles and sales coming."
