Google is finally defining its edge over Apple through its new wearable devices. CNBC reports that Google introduced its newest smart watches on its Google Play online store.

Among the two new smart devices introduced is the Samsung Gear Live, scheduled for release on July 7. Tagged at $199, the new Samsung smart watch is operated by Android OS and has a voice activation feature, making it an ideal gadget not only for adults, but also for kids.

According to Gizmag, another Android watch from Google is now on the market -- the LG G watch. Techradar reports that the the device was also released last July 7, as well. The watch costs about $229, and is on sale on Google Play Store right now.

The Washington Post says this is the first time Google has released wearable devices.

The Gear Live emanates a more sophisticated look than the G watch. The band of the Gear Live has a classy design and texture, whereas the G Watch seems to have a simpler looking design.

Both devices have the same software, with no components from LG or Samsung within their parts. The only difference between the two watches is that Gear Live has heart rate sensor capabilities, while the G watch does not.

The other features that both watches offer include the capability to make outgoing and take incoming calls, conduct a search on Google's search engine, call a cab to pick you up, and receive live traffic information.

The G watch is more expensive than the Samsung Gear; however, the money spent seems worth it as the former has a larger battery compared to its counterpart.

The Washington Post says this is the first time Google has released wearable devices.

As for Google's counterpart, Apple, the company has yet to confirm a release date for its rumored iWatch device.
