Verizon Wireless, in collaboration with LG Electronics USA has announced the launch of the new Intuition smartphone-tablet hybrid, available online at verizonwireless.com on September 6th and in Verizon Wireless retail stores on September 10th.
The Intuition by LG is part smartphone, part tablet and will run on the Verizon 4G LTE network. The device boasts a 5-inch high definition display with 4:3 aspect ratio. It has an 8 megapixel camera with 1080p HD video recording as well as a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera for video chatting. Additional camera features include voice command to take pictures, continuous shot to take six pictures with one tap and panorama shot capabilities. The Intuition has a 1.5 GHz dual processor with 1GB RAM and utilizes Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
Additionally the device features the Polaris office app, enabling users to view, create, edit and share documents. The Notebook app turns the Intuition into a "virtual notepad" for creating documents including text, drawings, images, video and voice clips. The QuickMemo app allows customers to draw or write personalized hand-written notes - using your finger or the included Rubberdium pen - on pictures, maps and Web site.
For business users the device features enterprise-grade security, corporate data encryption, secure multi-headed VPN connection and remote wipe capabilities.
The Intuition has the LG Tag+ app and comes with two reprogrammable Near Field Communications (NFC) stickers that can be used to switch between different phone modes, including Car Mode, Office Mode, Sleep Mode and User Mode. Bluetooth, GPS and Wi-Fi settings can be turned on or off by tapping the back of an Intuition on an LG Tap+ sticker.
"For example, the stickers can be posted onto an office door or bedroom nightstand and customers simply tap the NFC sticker with their phone to activate a mode and tap it again to return to the original settings," Verizon Wireless said in a statement.
The Intuition, available through Verizon Wireless, will retail for $199.99 with a two year service agreement. As an online-only promotion, customers who purchase the device between September 6th and September 10th will receive a free LG Tone Stereo Bluetooth headset.
