The iPhone 5 launch date is fast approaching. Everyone is expecting Apple to unveil the device on September 12, with a release date as early as September 21. On the cusp of what will most likely be the biggest handset launch in history, leaked component parts and images have been making their rounds on the internet almost every day.
Now, a new video on Youtube shows what looks like a fully assembled iPhone 5 alongside an iPhone 4S.
The device even boots up, and displays the Apple logo.If the handset in the video is indeed a real iPhone 5, then it only further confirms that the new device will be larger than previous iPhone models. The screen should be 4 inches, and you can see that it makes the handset taller, but not wider, than the iPhone 4S.
In comparison to the iPhone 4S, it is clear that the iPhone 5 is also thinner.
Also shown is the smaller dock connector. Rumored to be around 9 pins, this is also the reason that the iPhone 5 in the video cannot get past the boot screen: it asks to be connected via the new, smaller connecting cable, which the poster of the video does not have. When the iPhone 5 is launched, you can bet that Apple's iOS 6 is what will greet users.
The front-facing camera is now also now at the top middle, and the speaker, microphone, and audio jack seem to have been moved to the bottom.
While there is no way to tell if this is indeed a real iPhone 5 until Apple officially gives us details about the product, the iPhone 5 in the video does seem to fit the rumors and reports about the next-gen handset so far.
Also leaked recently are images of supposed new earbuds for the iPhone 5.
