‘Last Of Us’ PS4 Release Date, Gameplay & Trailer: Naughty Dog Confirms Summer Launch for 'Remastered' PlayStation 4 Version

Game developer Naughty Dog has announced that "Last of Us Remastered" will be heading to the PlayStation 4 in the summer of 2014, Cinema Blend reported.

Naughty Dog's Arne Meyer wrote on the PlayStation blog that the game will contain more additional features as compared to its 2013 version. Meyer posted, "In addition to all the technical updates, we're also including an exclusive director's commentary for all in-game cinematics featuring Creative Director and Writer, Neil Druckmann, Voice Actor, Troy baker, who plays Joel, and BAFTA Award Winning Voice Actress, Ashley Johnson, who plays Ellie."

Meyer also noted that the additional packs released for the 2013 "Last of Us" will be featured in the remastered version. This includes the single player expansion pack, the Abandoned Territories multiplayer map pack and the Reclaimed Territories pack.

Pre-ordering the game for the PS4 comes with the following bonuses:

-          100 Supply Points in Factions Mode

-          Bonus Joel and Ellie skins after finishing the single player mode

-          Increased Crafting Speed in the single player mode

-          Increased Healing Speed in the single player mode

-          Upgraded speed for 9mm reload in single player mode

-          Increased rifle clip capacity for single player mode

Rumors of a "Last Of Us" game for the PlayStation 4 surfaced last February after Druckman revealed to Euro Gamer about moving the game on Sony's latest console. He said, "We have such limited resources, and it's a question of where you put the resources. It's something where we can have a feel of where the demand is, and where our time is best spent. It's something that we'll figure out as we move forward."

Then, on the following month, Sercan Sulun of Sony confirmed that the game will be arriving on the PS4. He said, "There is no information about a new 'The Last of Us' game but I can share this knowledge: as of this summer, 'The Last of Us' will be on the PS4. Both on PSN and physically."

"The Last of Us" was first released in June of 2013 for the PlayStation 3. It follows the story of Joel and Ellie as they trek across a post-apocalyptic and pandemic-ravaged United States.
