Samsung electronics' newest model in its Galaxy S series, the Galaxy S5, has been advertised as the ultimate adventure companion boasting of a water, rain, sweat, dust and sand resistant feature.
The video below shows the Samsung S5 being tested on its sand and water resistant features.
In the video, we see samples of the device being completely dunked in water, impressively the S5 continues to work. However, a number of testers have tried to use the phone while it was under water but it failed to respond. According to Yugatech, the users "aren't successful since the Galaxy S5 doesn't support wet finger tracking."
However, in terms of being water and sand resistant, the smartphone does hold up while underwater and is tough enough to endure sand.
The device is manufactured by Samsung, the South Korean technology giant, and is "made to last longer and stronger," according to its website. Its dust and water resistant feature has an IP67 certification rating which translates to resistance to dust, sweat, liquids, sand and rain up to 1 meter for up to half-an-hour.
Aside from this, Galaxy S5 users will enjoy a device that is designed for every lifestyle. The smarphone is equipped with an enhanced Wi-Fi capacity for faster downloads, internal fingerprint scanner, extended battery life and a massive 5.1" full HD SUPER AMOLED screen display.
Those who cannot wait to get their hands on the latest Samsung device won't have to wait long. The IB Times reports that the device will hit the shelves on April 11th but pre-orders are already accepted with a number of authorized re-sellers.
