"Ride Along" continued its strong run at the North American Box Office while new release "I, Frankenstein" failed to impress.

The Kevin Hart and Ice Cube comedy took second place for the second consecutive weekend and made $21.2 million. Despite mediocre reviews, the film has already garnered $75.4 million and will likely become the first movie of 2014 to make $100 million.

"Lone Survivor" continued to due solid business and scored second place. The movie made $12.6 million and brought its total gross to $93.6 million. The film will undoubtedly pass $100 million by the end of week.

In third place, "The Nut Job," took in $12.3 million in its second weekend. The movie has already become one of the most profitable films of the year and a sequel is already in the works for 2016.

"Frozen" had yet another solid weekend grossing $9 million. The film has now made $347 million and will easily reach $360 million.

A pair of action films flopped. In its second weekend "Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit" continued to slow down and made a terrible $8.8 million. The film has only made $30 million and from the looks of it Paramount will most likely not make a sequel.

The only new release of the weekend, "I, Frankenstein," failed to gain any traction. The $65 million film only took in $8.7 million and will fade away the next few weeks.

Oscar nominees continued to expand to mixed results. "American Hustle" added 100 theaters and scored a solid $7 million. The film has now made $127 million. "August: Osage County" also expanded and took in $5 million. The Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts film has surprised at the box office with a total gross of $26 million.

Oscar front-runners "12 Years a Slave" and "Gravity" also expanded and took in solid grosses. The Steve McQueen drama grossed $2 million and brought its gross to $43 million. Meanwhile, Alfonso Cuaron's science fiction thriller scored another $2 million and brought its total to $261 million.

"Dallas Buyers Club" opened wide but only made $2 million. The Matthew McConaughey film has failed to gain traction with audiences due to its subject matter and has only made $20 million.

Alexander Payne's "Nebraska" has also been met with mixed reaction at the box office. Having added the movie in 560 theaters, "Nebraska" only made $1.4 million and is currently the lowest-grossing Oscar nominee with $11.7 million.

Two Oscar nominees, however, did not expand. "The Wolf of Wall Street" was down 126 theaters but still managed to make $5 million. The Leonardo DiCaprio comedy has already made $98 million and should pass $100 million before the end of the week.

Meanwhile, Warner Bros. cut 404 theaters from "Her." The Spike Jonze film has not had an easy time at the box office. The movie made $2.3 mllion and has a disappointing total of $19 million. "Her" will easily garner a cult following once it is released on DVD.
