Multiple reports referred to an analyst's claim that the final design of the new iPhone 6 will come at a smaller than expected size. Despite the fact that Apple Inc is notoriously secretive about its products up until its release, Cowen and Company analyst Timothy Arcuri told Apple Insider that the final design for the newest iPhone will have a 4.8 inch display. Arcuri also said the new iPhone 6 will also come in with a faster 802.11ac Wi-Fi connectivity.

The screen size of the new iPhone has gained buzz in the recent months from various sources, Yahoo! News pointed out. Yahoo! said Apple analyst Peter Misek's prediction to BGR was spot-on, while KGI Securities analyst Ming-chi Kuo's prediction was fairly conservative at not less than 4.5 inches. The report also said DisplaySearch stated that the new iPhone, aside from having a 4.7 inch display, will have a 1,600 x 900-pixel resolution.

Arcuri seemed to have put the rumors surrounding the design of the new iPhone to rest when he said that the testing of the new iPhone has been completed. Arcuri, whose revelations were from a note written to investors, said that the iPhone 6 will also come in with iOS 8, which will contain key software innovations like the TouchID, Passbook and Beacon. Yahoo! News underscored the fact that this particular bit of news was important, as the company's mobile software predecessor was all about software updates.

Yahoo! News also said that iPhone fans will be seeing two variations of the new iPhone 6. This was not unusual, considering the pattern on how Apple releases its new products in twins.

Arcuri added in his note to investors that the launch of the new iPhones could be in September, although BGR in a separate report said Apple might schedule the debut of the mobile phones in its annual WWDC conference in the summer this year.
