Microsoft has released firmware updates for the three Surface tablets for December.
Starting with the Surface Pro 2, the tablet contains six notable improvements, a change from the zero updates it received during November.

The Surface Pro 2 updates feature an improvement on system stability including full-screen games, an updated Wi-Fi driver for wireless display and connectivity with wireless access points, and improvements to the color fidelity. The tablet also has an optimized two-finger trackpad use, enhanced audio experience when connected to the Display Port 1.2 device, and better Surface Cover interaction including power-saving functionality.
The successor of the original Surface tablet, known as Surface 2, also has six updates. The Surface 2 updates include screen dimming during CPU intensive operations, decreased charge time for batteries, and an improvement to Skype video quality, In addition, the tablet resolved a delay when restarting Bluetooth devices, support to additional external displays, and an optimized two-finder trackpad.
The original Surface tablet has two updates including an improvement to the Surface Home Button Driver and Surface Type Cover audio device driver.
The first-generation Surface Pro tablet has one update depending on the operating system of the device. The Surface Pro with the Windows 8.0 has no update while the Windows 8.1 platform update has an improvement for wireless displays for Wi-Fi driver (version 14.69.24047.156).
