The holiday shopping season has proved to be an odd time for the Nokia Lumia 521 Windows Phone 8 smartphone on Amazon.com.
Early the morning of Dec. 9, the Lumia 521 was out of stock on Amazon, however, orders were still received with an approximate shipping date of Dec. 13. Later, the Lumia 521 was labeled as "In Stock."

The Lumia 521 also featured a price different than the cost listed on Dec. 7. As Latinos Post noted, the Lumia 521's price on Dec. 7 was listed at $94.97, a savings of $55.02 from the original list price of $149.99.
As of Dec. 9, the Lumia 521's new price is $79.95, which is a savings of $70.04, or 47 percent discount from the original $149.99 price tag.
Regardless of the price change, Amazon is still offering to ship the Lumia 521 for free since the product costs more than $35.
The online Microsoft Store also has the Lumia 521 smartphone for $99.
The Lumia 521 can also be purchased from the official T-Mobile website with $0 up front. On T-Mobile's website, the full retail price of the Lumia 521 is $126. With the $0 up front offer, the T-Mobile customer will have to pay $5.25 for the next 24 months. If the consumer cancels the wireless service, the remaining balance on the Windows Phone 8 device will be due.
The Lumia 521's features include a 4-inch touchscreen and 5-megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording. When it comes to memory, the smartphone has 8GB of internal storage with 512MB of RAM. A microSD card slot is available for an additional 64GB of storage. The battery capacity for the Windows Phone 8 smartphone is 1,430mAh.
