Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag will soon be on mobile with the launch of Assassin's Creed Pirates on December 5 for iOS and Android platforms, Polygon.com confirms the report. Each game would cost users at $4.99.
In a press release by Ubisoft published on IGN, the mobile version of the game "features brutal naval combat, Carribean exploration and epic quest for legendary treasure."
The game tells of the travails of Captain Alonzo Batilla and its focus would be on naval combat, with players recruiting a crew, managing their outfits and upgrading their ship. The goal of the game is to "engage in massive real-time naval battles to become the most feared pirate in the Carribean and claim La Buse's renowned treasure." The game would also feature "breathtaking moving waters, lush islands and gorgeous graphics," the release notes.
Gamerheadlines.com reviewed the game and said that this game of strategy, wits and action would "definitely not be just the next adventure game in your phone." It noted how Ubisoft went the distance, creating a whole new engine to render the ships in, proving that "mobile gaming is not the same and is getting more and more hardcore every single day. "
According to Androidcommunity.com, most of the action would be ship versus ship scenarios, but there is an added feature of having your ship fare against elements: fighting rain, wind and waves as you navigate the game.
The mobile game still retains many of the elements of the original game of course, wth conflict between the Assassins and Templars still intact. There would also be appearances by other famous pirates such as Blackbeard and Bellamy.
