Looks like the update problems continue for Samsung. After running into major trouble concerning the Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean upgrade, it appears the AT&T Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update has been shafted as well, at least for the time being.
Latinos Post can confirm that despite reports of the Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 update having rolled out starting Thursday, the process has gone AWOL. The upgrade download stalled halfway through Thursday, with similar results Friday. When checking for the update manually Friday, the Android software merely replies that the device is already up to date (despite running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean), hinting that the firmware has been retracted by either AT&T or Samsung and there is no Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out there, according to the servers.
It's unclear what's causing the delay, and it's possible it's merely a technical issue with the actual over-the-air rollout. However, the same thing is occuring with the Samsung Galaxy S3s in some regions after users began complaining of numerous serious issues, including having to remove the battery just to restart the device. This has led many to state the Galaxy S3 update has been sent back to the factory for more testing.
Either way, you can bet Samsung is hard at work fixing any possible bugs. Rival HTC seems to be plowing ahead with its update schedule, promising that all HTC Ones in America will have KitKat by the end of January, and the busy holiday shopping season is set to kick off.
Android 4.3 Jelly Bean is required for full connectivity with the Galaxy Gear smartwatch due to the Bluetooth 4.0 LE support it brings, so look for Samsung to rectify this as quick as possible.
