Google's Nexus 5 is already available for purchase in the Google Play store, but those looking to spend a little less money upfront will be pleased to know that Sprint has started selling the device, and T-Mobile will join in Nov. 14.
Sprint customers can pick up a Google Nexus 5 for $200. Coupled with a rebate and some special offers, the price can go as low as $50 — very appealing for a device that costs $349 at the Google Play Store. Of course, this all comes with the added caveat of a standard two-year contract with cancellation fees.
T-Mobile announced it will follow by beginning to sell the Nexus 5 online Nov. 14. The carrier will then start offering the device in brick-and-mortar retail stores six days later, on Nov. 20. T-Mobile customers can shell out $42 upfront and pay subsequent monthly payments of $17 for 24 months. T-Mobile has done away with contracts as part of their new "UnCarrier" strategy designed to change the wireless service market.
Prices mentioned above refer to the 16GB Nexus 5 model.
Of course, the Nexus 5 is also available through the Google Play store, although delivery times are beginning to climb. Those who order a 16GB Nexus 5 from Google Play Nov. 9 will have to wait three to four weeks for the phone to leave the warehouse. A 32GB Nexus 5 won't leave the warehouse until Nov. 22.
