Good news HTC Droid DNA owners: it looks like the 1080p-touting handset will receive Android 4.4 KitKat.
The update was confirmed by HTC America president Jason Mackenzie via Twitter, who followed up an earlier answer in which he stated HTC was still looking into which devices would get Android 4.4.

As Mackenzie mentions, there is no release date as of yet, and it won't be surprising if the update doesn't roll out until 2014, especially given HTC's priorities.
"Our priority will be updating the HTC One family. At this point, we're still working to determine whether and/or when we'll be updating other devices in our product portfolio," an HTC spokesperson told The Verge.
It also certainly doesn't help that Verizon is the sole carrier to offer the Droid DNA, which is the American variant of the international HTC Butterfly. Big Red is notoriously slow in updating its devices, and the carrier is expected to roll out Android 4.3 Jelly Bean sometime during December. In all likelihood, the Droid DNA Android 4.4 KitKat update won't land until 2014.
Android 4.4 KitKat brings a more colorful, cleaner look to the mobile operating system's interface. KitKat also features more Google Now integration than ever before in a move that Google hopes will introduce the search giant's intelligent personal assistant to a larger crowd.
