The rollout process for the aforementioned Nokia smartphones would vary on the Spanish mobile carriers.
The Lumia 520's Windows Phone 8 Amber Update are officially listed as "Available" by Nokia from mobile carriers Movistar, Orange, Vodafone, and Yoigo.
The Lumia 620's Amber Update is available from carriers Movistar and Vodafone.
The Lumia 720's Windows Phone 8 Amber Update is available from only Vodafone.
The update for the Lumia 820 has rolled out from Movistar.
Finally, the Lumia 920's Windows Phone 8 Amber Update is available from Vodafone.
Vodafone had the Lumia 520, Lumia 620, and Lumia 920 update available since Latinos Post last checked in September while the other mobile carriers had their updates categorized as "Waiting for approval" or "Coming soon." As Latinos Post reported, Nokia defines "waiting for approval" as undergoing final test with either the specific country or mobile carrier before approval. The "coming soon" definition means the update has been approved but is in "final pre-release checks."
As Latinos Post reported, Nokia did not rollout the Windows Phone 8 Amber Update in one huge distribution to ensure "quality standards."
"To ensure the software update meets our quality standards, we're running multiple tests with various country variants and operators," wrote Nokia Conversations' Ian Delaney. "We make the updates available to you as soon as we complete testing. With Lumia Amber we expect to have the update arriving in all Lumia Windows Phone 8 phones by the end of September. Be patient - it's coming!"
The Windows Phone 8 Amber Update for the Nokia Lumia smartphones improves the smartphone's camera, particularly the auto focus, noise filter and low-light photo-taking capabilities, to name a few features.
According to Nokia, "To make sure you don't miss out on the notification, check on your phone that under Settings > Phone Update > 'Tell me when updates are available for my phone' is enabled."
