It's still quite a ways off, but that hasn't stopped the rumor mill from beginning to whisper about Samsung's next flagship smartphone, the rumored Galaxy S5. While many of the early signs are encouraging, a new report states that the handset might not get optical image stabilization in its camera.
According to Korean news outlet ETNews, the Samsung Galaxy S5's camera will not contain optical image stabilization because suppliers simply can't manufacture enough components for the gargantuan South Korean electronics company. Nothing has been confirmed at this early stage, and earlier reports did state that optical image stabilization would be a part of the Galaxy S5, so there's still hope for this nifty feature to be a part of the phone.
Despite the fact that the camera might be a little shakier than desired on the Galaxy S5, there's still plenty to be excited about if any of the other rumors about the device pan out. If all goes according to the tea leaves so far, the Galaxy S5 will feature an impressive 4GB of RAM under the hood to go alongside a brand new 64-bit processor. The Galaxy S5 will also apparently be dustproof and waterproof right out of the box with a shiny new metal casing.
Samsung typically launches a new Galaxy S smartphone during the first half of the year, although some are saying that the Galaxy S5 could come as early as January due to lagging Galaxy S4 sales. Of course, as usual, we'll simply have to wait and see.
