Nokia Lumia Amber Update in Mexico: Windows Phone 8 Amber Update 'Waiting for Approval' for Lumia 520, Lumia 920 from Carrier Iusacell

Nokia's Lumia smartphones in Mexico are still waiting for the Windows Phone 8 Amber Update, and the rollout will vary on the country's mobile carriers.

According to Nokia's software update for Latin America, Windows Phone 8 smartphone owners in Mexico might have to wait to install the update particularly with the mobile carrier Iusacell.

Nokia has confirmed the Windows Phone 8 Amber Update for the Lumia 520, Lumia 620, Lumia 720, Lumia 820, and Lumia 920 devices.

With the Lumia 520, Movistar and Telcel has rolled out the Windows Phone 8 Amber Update. Iusacell is planned to release the Amber Update but the mobile carrier is under the "Waiting for approval" phase of the rollout.

As Latinos Post reported, Nokia has defined the term "waiting for approval" as undergoing final test with either the specific country or mobile carrier before approval.

The Lumia 620's Amber Update is available from Movistar and Telcel.

The Windows Phone 8 Amber Update for the Lumia 720 has rolled out from Telcel.

Movistar and Telcel's Amber Update are also available for the Lumia 820 and Lumia 920.

Iuscacell is planned for rollout the Windows Phone 8 Amber Update for the Lumia 920, but as seen with the Lumia 920, it is in the "Waiting for approval" phase.

As Latinos Post reported, Nokia did not rollout the Windows Phone 8 Amber Update in one huge distribution to ensure "quality standards."

"To ensure the software update meets our quality standards, we're running multiple tests with various country variants and operators," wrote Nokia Conversations' Ian Delaney. "We make the updates available to you as soon as we complete testing. With Lumia Amber we expect to have the update arriving in all Lumia Windows Phone 8 phones by the end of September. Be patient - it's coming!"

According to Nokia, "To make sure you don't miss out on the notification, check on your phone that under Settings > Phone Update > 'Tell me when updates are available for my phone' is enabled."
