The release date speculation might be an obvious projection since the iPhone 5 was confirmed in Sept. 12, 2012, and the iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s were revealed on Sept. 10 this year.
With the 5-inch screen, the iPhone 6 will reportedly have full 1080p HD Retina Display.
As Latinos Post reported, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo stated the 2014 iPhone would sport a screen size between 4.5 inches and 5 inches.
Kuo's projection comes as Latinos Post reported the iPhone 6 might have a screen size of 4.8 inches, according to Jefferies & Co. analyst Peter Misek.
Meanwhile, DisplaySearch analyst David Hsieh stated Apple is considering two sets of display-size increases for the iPhone 6, including an improved high-definition resolution, better than the current Retina Display. Hsieh said Apple is testing 4.7-inch panels and 5.7-inch panels with 1,280x720 pixels and 1080p resolution, respectively.
Apple released the iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s on Sept. 20. The Cupertino-based organization confirmed 9 million units were sold during its first-weekend sales. The Cupertino-based organization didn't reveal specific numbers for the iPhone 5s or iPhone 5c. The 9 million units for both phones were 4 million units more than the first-weekend sales of the iPhone 5 in September 2012, which sold 5 million units.
