The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 may have just released, but Samsung is hard at work keeping the device up to date. Samsung Galaxy Note 3 owners can now snag a new firmware off the air that brings some stability updates to the phablet.

The update only applies to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 LTE model SM-N9005, which is the international variant with a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor under the hood instead of Samsung's Exynos chip. The upgrade weighs in at 116MB, and will bump up the firmware version to UDMJ6. As always, have the smartphone charged and tethered to a Wi-Fi connection before downloading.

After downloading the update, Galaxy Note 3 owners will find that they are now able to turn off the "Reactivation Lock" feature simply by going to Settings > General > Security. Other than that, the Samsung keyboard seems to have gotten a facelift and there are the usual bug fixes.

This isn't the first update Samsung has pushed out for the Galaxy Note 3. The phablet's first patch included fixes to the camera as well as the normal performance enhancements.

While there's no word on the street when it will happen, expect the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 to be one of the first devices upgraded to Android 4.4 KitKat. Google still has not released any details on Android 4.4 KitKat, much less its release date, but given that the Galaxy Note 3 is Samsung's latest device, and the rest of Samsung's flagship lineup will be playing catch up to Android 4.3 until the end of the year, KitKat could land on the Galaxy Note 3 before any other device. Of course, as usual, we'll simply have to wait and see.
