The Xbox One is set to be released on Nov. 22, and a huge amount of gamers are looking forward to getting their hands on the console on day one. However, some believable rumors have emerged about the Xbox One that indicate the console may not deliver on many of its promises when it launches.

According to Kotaku, many different sources are reporting that the Xbox One has several technical issues that could be dealbreakers for potential buyers, especially those waiting to see how the console compares to the PlayStation 4. Speaking directly to Kotaku, the sources report that the development kits given to development teams are buggy, and several rumors have swirled around the Xbox One concerning power issues and resolutions. Bugs in the operating system and in Xbox Live are also being discussed.

While console launches are rarely smooth, Microsoft cannot afford a blunder during this critical time. After all, the company fought hard to gain back goodwill for the console after a rocky reveal event and several unpopular policies were announced. If the Xbox One launches with bugs and glitches and fallas behind the PlayStation 4, it could decrease the company's holiday numbers and establish an early trend.

Development kit bugs and other such issues are fairly common, but a big problem reported by Pete Dodd is that the Xbox One operating system has many glitches. Specifically, Dodd told Kotaku that problems concerning the apps for the console seem to be a significant issue.

"My understanding from [my sources] is that the [OS] problem happens with the apps..So if you are playing by yourself and just playing the game online it should be fine. But if you're in a party, people get dropped. Voice chat cuts in and out. Certain app combinations make the machine crash completely."

When asked about these potential problems, a Microsoft Spokesman stated that the company is gearing up for a "great launch," but did not address the specific rumors brought up by this leak:

"We're on track for a great launch. We're in the final stages of development and things are progressing well. Games are moving through certification now. We also feel great about the platform and Xbox Live. We've been building great multiplayer experiences for more than 10 years and Xbox Live multiplayer on Xbox One will be the best it's ever been."

Nov. 22 will hopefully reveal if all the Xbox One rumors are true or false, adding a further layer of intrigue around the date.
