The Nokia Lumia 928 smartphone from Verizon Wireless has encountered a steep price reduction on Amazon.com.
The Windows Phone 8 Lumia 928 smartphone's black and white models will cost the consumer one U.S. penny.

The $0.01 price tag for the Lumia 928 is valid for consumers who want to sign a two-year contract with Verizon Wireless in either an individual plan or family plan.
The $0.01 price is also valid for current Verizon Wireless customers who want to upgrade their device or add a new line of service to their account.
Amazon's "Without a Service Plan" cost for the Lumia 928 will increase the price of the Windows Phone 8 device to $509.99.
Meanwhile, the official website for the Lumia 928 on Verizon Wireless has the smartphone at its original price tag of $99.99 when signing a two-year contract with the mobile carrier. Verizon Wireless is also offering the smartphone at $0 down as long as the consumer pays $20.90 per month as part of the Verizon Edge plan. A month-to-month option is available for $499.99.
For $149.98, Verizon Wireless offers an accessory bundle package for the Lumia 928 including a black silicone cover, display protector, and a lighted vehicle charger.
The Lumia 928's features include a 4.5-inch display with 1,280x768 pixels. The Lumia 928 also comes with 32GB internal storage and 1GB of RAM and no card microSD card slot. When it comes to the photography, the rear-facing camera has 8 megapixels with 3,264x2,448 pixels and Carl Zeiss optics. The front-facing camera, meanwhile, has 1.3 megapixels. The smartphone can also record at 1080p at 30 frames per second.
