As we previously reported, T-Mobile is one of the first U.S. carriers to roll out the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update to its HTC One handsets. Now the roll out is official, and T-Mobile users can download the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update on their HTC One now.
The upgrade is officially version 3.24.531.3, according to Phandroid, and it brings a lot of updates to Android's core operation, as well as some of the HTC-specific software.
Some of the new goodies on the face of the device include new lockscreen widgets, numeric battery levels for the status bar, a new file format for Zoe camera clips that makes it easier to find and store your highlight reels, a new quick settings panel in the notifications area, and new options to configure the home button the way you want.
BlinkFeed also gets an upgrade, giving you more support for more aggregation sources, including Instagram posts. Zoe highlights are as long as you can make them now as well.
Under the hood, there's of course the OpenGL 3.0 support for better video and game graphics, as well as ANT+ and TRIM support for better performance.
To manually check for the update, go to the Home screen, hit All Apps, and then Settings. Then go to About > Software Updates > Check Now. Follow the prompts and keep clicking the OK button, and your HTC One will reboot and install.
The whole installation process should take approximately 10 minutes, but since you've been waiting for a couple months to get the same thing as the Google Play HTC One, you're used to being patient.
You'll want to be connected to WiFi in order to download the update, as it's a massive, data-eating 560MB, according to TmoNews.
