Apple launched the first television commercial for the iPhone 5s.
The 30-second advertisement focused more on the gold model of the iOS 7-run iPhone than the black and "space gray" variants.

The first iPhone 5s featured a stream of gold liquid shifting around to make the form of the newest Apple smartphone. The video also features the introduction of the Touch ID fingerprint sensor. Also, the gold advert featured no narration.
A second variant of the iPhone 5s include a person's index finger pressing on the Touch ID before displaying the 4-inch screen with iOS 7 apps. The second version of the gold iPhone 5s does include vocals in the form of the song "Ooh La La" by Goldfrapp.
As Latinos Post reported, the iPhone 5s made its initial launch on Sept. 20.
Apple announced nine million units of the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c were sold during its first weekend on Sept. 20, however, specific numbers for the two smartphones were not disclosed. The nine million units for both phones were four million units more than the first-weekend sales of the iPhone 5 in September 2012, which sold 5 million units.
The features for the iPhone 5s are, for the most part, the same specifications as the discontinued iPhone 5, such as the 4-inch Retina Display with 1,136x640 resolution, 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, 1080p HD video recording camera, to name a few. The iPhone 5s, however, features a larger f/2.2 aperture for the rear-facing camera with the aim of improving low-light photography. The iPhone 5s utilizes the A7 processor chip with 64-bit architecture, which plays a critical role with the Touch ID.
The iPhone 5s is set to launch with prepaid wireless service Cricket in the U.S. on Oct. 25 along with over 30 countries including Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, French West Indies, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macau, Malta, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Reunion Island, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, and Thailand.
