It looks like Samsung's Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean firmware update is making its way beyond just the first international LTE models of the device. Now there are reports that some other Exynos-based Samsung Galaxy S4 handsets are receiving the update being released over-the-air.
The report, coming out of SamMobile via Android Authority, is that the Android 4.3 rollout for Exynos Octa-based, non-LTE Samsung Galaxy S4's has begun. That's the GT-I9500 Galaxy S4, as opposed to the GT-I9505, which Latinos Post previously reported were getting the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update.
The unlocked version of the LTE version of the Samsung Galaxy S4 was the first to start getting the Android 4.3 update, but that's only been officially reported as rolling out in Germany via Samsung Kies.
Obviously, we expect more and more Samsung Galaxy S4 models - followed by, finally those poor Samsung Galaxy S3 owners who have been stuck on a version of Android 4.1 for so long - to get the update sooner or later.
The newest update roll out is in Russia via Kies, so the Android 4.3 update party has not really gotten started yet. But if the update is starting to hit other versions of the Samsung Galaxy S4, like this non-LTE variant, you can bet the rollout is just starting to accelerate.
For those who are lucky enough to have the right kind of Samsung Galaxy S4 in the right region, here's what you'll get in Android 4.3:
Open GL 3.0 Support
Galaxy Gear Compatibility
TRIM Support (faster performance)
ANT+ Support
Samsung KNOX Implementation (KNOX bootloader and dedicated app)
Samsung Wallet App pre-loaded
Improved RAM management (performance)
Improved Display color reproduction (sharper images)
Improved TouchWiz Launcher (less lag)
New Samsung Keyboard
New Samsung Browser (full screen by default)
New Reading Mode (Optimizes display for reading for a few specific apps)
New Camera firmware
UI Tweaks to the Contact app and others
It shouldn't be too long until the Android 4.3 upgrade lands for carriers in the U.S. so stay tuned for more details as they become available.
