Nokia coined the Oct. 20 occasion in honor of he evolving digital photography revolution, and the fact it shares the same digits as their current AT&T flagship smartphone, the Lumia 1020.
As Latinos Post reported, Nokia provided Associated Press staff photographers the 41-megapixel-sensor Windows Phone 8 camera phone to help honor the event and contribute to the "mobile photo documentary" series depicting people around the world in unexpected moments.
In the Nokia tweet, in order to be eligible for the free Lumia 1020 pack, a retweet of their message has to be done.
The Lumia 1020 pack includes the smartphone and the camera grip.
The Lumia 1020's features include a 4.5-inch screen with 1,280x768 pixels covered in Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The new Windows Phone 8 device has 32GB of internal storage for 2GB of RAM. The device includes a rear-facing camera with a 41-megapixel sensor and front-facing camera with 1.2 megapixels. The smartphone also packs a 2,000mAh battery.
In the U.S., the Lumia 1020, exclusive to mobile carrier AT&T, is priced at $199.99 when upgrading or signing a two-year contract.
