Samsung's Galaxy devices are proving popular for the South Korean company as it's the only Android manufacturer that reported a profit last year, and it seeks to continue the success with the Galaxy Note 2.
However, the Galaxy Note 2 has recently brought criticism of similarities to the Galaxy S3, especially after GSM Arena posted leaked images bearing resemblances to the Galaxy S3, but in fact there are clear differences aside from sharing "Galaxy" in its name.
One of the positive comments since the release of the Galaxy S3 is the display and size of the screen. Its screen accounted for 4.8-inches with Super AMOLED HD PenTile display with a resolution of 1280x720 pixels, the Galaxy Note 2 will better that number with a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED HD Display.
The pixel resolution for the Galaxy Note 2 is unknown, but as Android Authority noted, the original Samsung Note used 1280x800 pixel resolution with 5.3-inch display, so it is likely the pixel resolution can go as high as 1600x900 for the Note 2. However, they added that since the 1280x800 pixel resolution is already advanced compared to other smartphones, Samsung faces the possibility of keeping it the same.
However, Asian site Digitimes said the device will sport a 1794x1080 pixel resolution.
According to Phones Review, the Galaxy Note 2 is rumored to run on the Android Jelly Bean, a change from Galaxy s3's Ice Cream Sandwich.
GSM Arena reported that the 4.1 Jelly Bean update for Galaxy S3 is expected to be released alongside the Samsung Galaxy Note 2.
The Galaxy Note 2 is also expected to have 13 megapixel auto-focus rear facing camera with LED flash, 1080p video, a front facing snapper, 1.5GB RAM, 16GB or 32GB internal storage, a 1.5GHz Exynos 4 quad core processor, and microSD expansion.
The international launch date for the Galaxy Note 2 is reported to be Aug. 30 or 31st.
