The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is still at least one month away from receiving its much-anticipated Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update, but a team of intrepid developers has already created a custom ROM from a leaked Android 4.3 build that contains some Galaxy Note 3 features.
An Android 4.3 build for the Galaxy Note 2 model GT-N7100 leaked onto the Internet at the beginning of October, but the firmware contained none of the new TouchWiz features Samsung had included on the Galaxy Note 3. Now, a team of XDA Developers have released a firmware that contains Galaxy Note 3 features such as Air Command, S Note, Sketchbook, S Planner, the new Gallery, and more.
Bear in mind that this is a custom ROM, and should not be flashed by amateurs. Some bugs still exist, such as Air View appearing twice in the settings, but those should eventually be ironed out in subsequent updates. The ROM is mostly for Galaxy Note 2 owners too eager to wait until November who are experienced with flashing Android devices.
You can download the custom ROM here.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is currently rumored to receive Android 4.3 Jelly Bean sometime in November. Samsung announced in September that it was scrapping Android 4.2.2 for the device and instead plowing on ahead to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, meaning the Galaxy Note 2 has not had a substantial upgrade in almost a year. The reasoning behind this is presumably so Samsung can bolster its lineup to support Bluetooth 4.0 LE, which is only found in Android 4.3 and required for full integration with the Galaxy Gear smartwatch.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has also been unofficially confirmed for an Android 4.4 KitKat update.
