Moto X owners on Verizon should finally be close to receiving the much-needed camera fix update that has rolled out on every other major U.S. carrier. A new soak test invite indicates the actual release date for the firmware is just around the corner.

Verizon has been spotted sending out soak test invites to those that are part of its test group for a new patch. Soak tests are small, exclusive rollouts that help the carrier and firmware developer spot any major bugs before releasing the update to the public at large. While details about the soak test are confidential, the big money's on it containing a very crucial camera fix.

It wasn't long after the Moto X released that buyers began pointing out how terrible the camera was. Carriers AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and U.S. Cellular have all rolled out a patch that dramatically improves the quality of the pictures taken with the device.

The update is essentially the same across the board, so for those interested in what's coming, here's the official changelog from AT&T:

"- Enhanced camera auto-white balance performance and color accuracy.
- Improved exposure when taking photos outside or backlit, and improved clarity in low light.
- Faster touch-to-focus time and reduced unnecessary refocusing in low light or scenes with continuous motion.
- Faster response and improved accuracy when using Touchless Control and easier set up and training of the 'Ok Google Now' trigger.
- Enhanced transfer of content from old phone to new phone using Motorola Migrate.
- Fine-tuned feature that allows you to find phone when it is lost that sometimes prevented a lost phone from reporting its location."
