According to statistics gathered by AdDuplex during Oct. 11, the Lumia 520 easily crushed fellow Windows Phone 8 device with 23.2 percent of the market share.

"It's no surprise that Lumia 520 is continuing its rise as the top Windows Phone device out there," wrote AdDuplex's Alan Mendelevich.
What made the Lumia 520 appealing to Windows Phone customers?
The Lumia 520's features include a dual-core 1.0GHz processor while having a 4-inch screen display with IPS display technology. The pixel resolution for the Lumia 520 is 800x480. The rear-facing camera has 5 megapixels while no secondary camera is present and the Windows Phone 8 smartphone has 8GB for internal storage with 512MB of RAM. The smartphone uses a 1,430mAh battery.
The Lumia 920 and Lumia 620 tied for second and third place as each accounted for 9.2 percent of the worldwide Windows Phone devices market share by AdDuplex.
The Lumia 710 finished fourth with 7.7 percent while the Lumia 800 reached 6.2 percent to round the top five.
The only non-Nokia Lumia smartphone to chart the worldwide Windows Phone devices chart was the HTC 8X, which placed tenth with 3.1 percent.
Windows Phone 8
Among Windows Phone 8 smartphones, the Lumia 520 also finished on top.
With 32.8 percent of the market share, the Lumia 520 placed first place of the Windows Phone 8 devices in the world.
Echoing the standard Windows Phone market share, the Lumia 920 and Lumia 620 tied in the Windows Phone 8 market shares as well with 12.9 percent, respectively.
The Lumia 820 narrowly edged out the Lumia 720 for fourth place by 0.1 percent. The Lumia 820 garnered 7.9 percent of the Windows Phone 8 devices global market share while the Lumia 720 accounted for 7.8 percent.
The non-Lumia smartphones that placed in the Windows Phone 8 charts were the HTC 8X, which placed sixth with 4.4 percent, and the HTC 8S at ninth with 3.2 percent.
AdDuplex collected its data from 1,411 Windows Phone apps utilizing the AdDuplex SDK v.2 during Oct. 11.
