The Samsung Galaxy S3 has garnered favorable reviews and with all four major wireless networks: AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon, carrying the latest Galaxy device, the option of upgrading without switching accounts or networks shouldn't be a hassle.
The Galaxy S3 runs with the Android 4.0.4 - also known as the Ice Cream Sandwich, with a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 2GB RAM, Super AMOLED HD display with 720p resolution, and the ability to capture 1080p HD video.
"The phone is nothing short of fantastic," said Troy Tucker of the Examiner. Tucker had a demo model sent to him courtesy of Verizon Wirless and added "I haven't been able to put it down!"
Tucker does note that the Verizon version does have one advantage, "[the] ability to use inductive charging technology which means that the phone can be charged wirelessly as well as by using the traditional plug in charger.
Fellow Examiner Daryl Deino compared the Galaxy S3 with Apple's iPhone 4S, and reported that Samsung easily wins.
When it comes to design and its build, Deino gives credit to Samsung for creating a phone with a 4.8-inch screen that at the same time is "light as a feather." For its performance, the 1.5GHz dual core processor provides Samsung the advance over Apple.
"It doesn't have a quad-core processor, but I don't feel one is needed. The 2GB RAM also keeps things speedy. The Samsung Galaxy S3 is perhaps the best performing smartphone I have ever tested," reported Deino.
The Huffington Post's Jason Gilbert said, "...the speed of the phone and that gorgeous display make Samsung's third Galaxy S a charm."
iDesignTimes' also gave favorable reviews for the Galaxy S3, nothing the Super AMOLED HD display with 1,280x720-pixel resolution.
"This means more screen real estate than ever before (aside from the Note). You can even do two things at once, like text and watch a video at the same time. The Samsung Galaxy S3 is the one of the first smartphones to use Corning's Gorilla Glass 2. This thinner, light and more responsive material supposedly lets the screen shine brighter. The S3 screen isn't as bright as other phones, but the colors shine in the dark and it is extremely reactive, needing just a light brush to activate the display."
