Google's mobile operating system is king of the smartphone platforms in Spain.
According to the new smartphone operating system market share figures by Kantar Worldpanel, Google's Android easily crushed the competition and that includes Apple, Microsoft, and BlackBerry.

For the three months ending in August 2013, Android accounted for 90.8 percent of the mobile operating system market share. The percentage for Android comes with an 5.8 percent from the same period in 2012.
Apple's iOS finished second, but 85.5 percentage points behind Android. iOS finished the three months ending in August this year with 5.3 percent of the smartphone platform market share. Similar to Android, iOS also saw an increase in their market share but by 2.5 percent.
Microsoft's Windows Phone placed third, which is an improvement from fourth place during the three months ending in August last year. Windows Phone saw an increase of 0.1 percent, enough to give the Microsoft mobile operating system a total of 2.2 percent for the three months ending in August this year.
BlackBerry suffered the worst percentage lost from 2012 to 2013. BlackBerry, for the three months ending in August 2012, finished second with 5.6 percent but that ended in 2012. For the three months ending in August this year, BlackBerry garnered 0.7 percent of the smartphone operating system market share in Spain. Therefore, when comparing the same three-month period from 2012 and 2013, BlackBerry lost 4.9 percent of the market share.
