Owners of a Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini and Galaxy Mega smartphones have some good news: a recent internal document leak shows that Samsung intends to update the devices to Android 4.4 KitKat and bring the KNOX security suite with it.

Samsung-centric website SamMobile managed to get its hands on an internal Samsung document detailing some of Samsung's plans with the KNOX security suite. On the document, both the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini and Galaxy Mega are listed as being scheduled to receive KNOX once Android 4.4 KitKat lands on them. This would apply to three devices: the Galaxy S4 Mini, the Galaxy Mega 5.8, and the Galaxy Mega 6.3.

KNOX is Samsung's security suite for business-minded users. KNOX gives users extra layers of protection so that they can use the same device for both work and personal use without as much fear of professional information being stolen.

No release time frames were given, and it's hard to tell when Samsung will get around to updating these devices to Android 4.4 KitKat. Google still hasn't even revealed Android 4.4, and Samsung is still busy updating many other more-popular devices like the Galaxy S3 to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. If anything, expect to see Android 4.4 on those devices before on the Galaxy S4 Mini and Galaxy Mega.

Android 4.4 KitKat will bring some aesthetic changes to the Android operating system as well as possible 64-bit support.
