Apple and Microsoft's mobile operating systems have increased their market share percentages in Australia, but it was not enough for first place.
According to Kantar Worldpanel, the Google Android mobile platform finished first once again but, in return, saw a dip in their market share percentage.

For the three months ending in August 2013, Android garnered 62.1 percent of the smartphone operating system market share. The latest percentage for the Google mobile platform comes with a 3.8 percent decrease when comparing to the same three months in 2012.
Apple's iOS finished 33.4 percentage points behind Android, but it too had a comfortable market share percentage. iOS accounted for 28.7 percent of the market share during the three months ending in August this year. The market share for the Cupertino-based organization's mobile operating system is an increase of 2.9 percent when comparing to the three months ending in August last year.
Microsoft's Windows Phone failed to hit double-digit territory in the Australian market share, but it did see an increase in their percentage unlike Android. Windows Phone maintained third place with a 2.8 percent increase from the three months ending in August last year. Therefore, Windows Phone finished the three months ending in August 2013 with 6.5 percent.
Rounding up the top four is BlackBerry. Similar to Android, BlackBerry lost ground in the market share. BlackBerry finished the end of August 2013 with 0.5 percent, which represents a decrease of 1.1 percent from 1.6 percent last summer.
