HTC One Android 4.3 Update: AT&T Release Date is Oct. 8

HTC One owners on AT&T's network are in for an imminent treat before the middle of October hits: that's right folks, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean has been certified for the AT&T HTC One and should begin rolling out Oct. 8.

HTC America president Jason Mackenzie took to Twitter Oct. 4 to announce that the AT&T HTC One Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update had passed certification and would rolling out starting the week of Oct. 6.

For those too anxious to wait any longer, Mackenzie further clarified the date, stating that AT&T should start pushing out the update starting Tuesday, Oct. 8.

Sprint is the only carrier to have released the HTC One Android 4.3 update so far, although the rest of the big four are set to soon follow. AT&T will become the second network, while T-Mobile HTC One owners can expect a mid-October release. Verizon, as usual, will come in last with a late-October rollout.

While U.S. counterparts are finally getting an update ahead of many international regions for once, it's not all good news. The updates for U.S. HTC Ones will only include Android 4.3 and no new version of Sense. International HTC Ones in areas like Europe will get the update later, sometime in November, but will also receive Sense 5.5 at the same time. Sense 5.5 will land on U.S. HTC Ones in a separate download at a later, unspecified date.

Android 4.3 Jelly Bean is the latest version of Android, although it does not contain many changes to the aesthetic or any groundbreaking new features. Instead, most of the improvements lie under the hood. Google is expected to release Android 4.4 KitKat sometime in October.
