Picked up the recently-launched Google Nexus 7 tablet? If you're like most customers, you're probably incredibly satisfied with both the gadget and the price. Here are my picks for the top entertainment apps for the Nexus 7 from the Google Play store.
TV & Movies for Google TV - This handy official app is a one-stop shop for most of your video needs. You can easily set up your existing cable or satellite subscription, as well as feed it all the relevant Netflix/Youtube/other video site-related data so it can aggregate it all in one place. MX player - For watching videos transferred from your home computer or any other device, the MX player is the way to go. Google's stock media player doesn't support all video formats, so expect to use the MX player more than you think. It also comes with some nifty interactive features that make viewing much easier. Music Volume EQ - If you're watching video or listening to music, chances are sound quality is more than paramount to you. Since Android devices are easy to unlock and boost, here's an intuitive app that will allow you to enhance the sound quality on your Nexus 7. Download it here.
Spotify - As far as music services go, this is my favorite. With millions of free songs at its disposal, Spotify gives you access to a huge library without any of the pesky downloading or purchasing. The app also gives U.S. listeners free radio. Download it here.
Fandango Movies for Tablets - If you want some eye candy, but want a bigger screen, the Nexus 7 can help you there too. This one's a no-brainer, but Fandango is the most robust and easy to use movie time and ticket service there is. Also an easy pick to make. Download it here.
