Motorola's latest Droid RAZR HD and Droid RAZR Maxx HD are expected to launch in October, and leaked photos are hinting its features.
According to CNET, Verizon Wireless customers expected the Droid RAZR HD to debut last week but Motorola has set the record straight.
According to a HotHardware source, the Motorola plans for an October release will hopefully generate movement with current RAZR generation devices, if not, then the October launch date will be pushed back.
The two RAZR devices are expected to be released after Apple launches their iPhone 5.
Images of the RAZR HD leaked on the XDA Forum and if accurate shows it following the Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0.4) instead of the Jelly Bean (Android 4.1).
Either way, the two upcoming RAZRs will feature identical hardware such as extended battery life, a centered camera with 13 megapixels, a 720x1,280-pixel HD display, and a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processors. The phone is supported by Verizon's 4G LTE network, which according to GottaBeMobile is 10 times faster than 3G speeds.
News of the leaks come as Google announce it will cut 20 percent of its workforce, that's estimated to 4,000 people of the total 20,000 employed at Motorola.
"Motorola is committed to helping [employees] through this difficult transition and will be providing generous severance packages, as well as outplacement services to help people find new jobs," said Google in a statement.
Google officially purchased Motorola for $12.5 billion earlier this year. Motorola Mobility plans to reduce its operations in the Asian markets while strengthening efforts in Beijing, Chicago, and Sunnyvale, California. Despite the loss of jobs, Google's stock rose 2.8 percent on Monday.
