HTC might be focusing more on keeping its newer flagship phone, the One, up to date against rival flagships, but the company hasn't left owners of the older One X out to dry. HTC is now rolling out Android 4.2.2 with Sense 5 in India, bringing the region's One Xs up to par with European models.

HTC India recently took to Facebook to ask its fans, "Have you updated your HTC One X to Sense 5? Please check for updates on your device like this: Go to Settings > About > Software Updates > Check now. Do remember to check that box for "Update over Wi-Fi only" to help conserve your data usage."

Users from all over India are reporting that they have been able to update their One X to Android 4.2.2 and Sense 5, meaning the over-the-air rollout has begun. As usual with these kinds of releases, not every handset will receive the update at the same time since the firmware will be pushed out in batches.

Android 4.2.2 with Sense 5 for the HTC One X has already landed in several other regions around the world, including Europe. The United States has been left out of the loop so far, and there has been no comment from either HTC or U.S. carrier AT&T on when the One X will be upgraded Stateside.

HTC is reportedly working on porting over Android 4.3 and possibly the newer Sense 5.5 to the HTC One X, but as one insider puts it, there's little-to-no chance it will be released in 2013.
