Google hasn't officially announced the successor to its popular Nexus 4 smartphone yet, but that hasn't stopped the alleged Nexus 5 from popping up all over the place. The latest sighting is a leaked log file that reveals the Nexus 5 will feature a Full HD 1080p display as well as wireless charging.
Thanks to the keen eyes over at Myce, we now have access to an alleged log file running on the Nexus 5. The log file reveals a device codenamed "Hammerhead" (the nickname for the Nexus 5) running Android "Key Lime Pie" build KRS74H (to be called Android 4.4 KitKat when it is released sometime over the next month or two). According to Myce, there's a juicy 133,000 lines of information in the 10MB file.
Apparently, the Nexus 5 smartphone will come equipped with a 4.97-inch 1080p Full HD display capable of pushing out 442 pixels per inch. Underneath the hood, there should be a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. The log file also shows that the phone sports an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera.
In terms of connectivity, the Nexus 5 will support Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, Wi-Fi, GPS and LTE.
While none of these specs have been confirmed by Google or LG (the rumored manufacturer of the Nexus 5), it shouldn't be too long until all is revealed. Word around town is that Google will be holding an event Oct. 14, at which the Mountain View search giant is expected to unveil the Nexus 5 smartphone along with Android 4.4 KitKat. The Nexus 5 should then be in consumers' hands by the end of October.
