It's official: we have more news concerning the Android 4.3 update for both the Samsung Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2. While Samsung has already announced a time frame for the rollout, French carrier SFR has published a timeline detailing that the two devices won't receive Android 4.3 until November at the earliest.
A recent post on SFR's Future Updates page shows that both the Samsung Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 smartphones are scheduled to receive Android 4.3 in November/December.
The graphic also shows that the update will be made available over the air and through Samsung's KIES software. SFR does state that the dates listed apply to both 3G and 4G models of the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2.
Of course, these dates are specific to the French carrier, but it is a good indicator of when Galaxy S3s and Galaxy Note 2s around the world can expect Android 4.3. Samsung announced in early September that it will do its best to push out Android 4.3 for its flagship devices as soon as possible in an effort to give everybody connectivity with the Galaxy Gear smartwatch. The Galaxy Gear smartwatch requires Bluetooth 4.0 LE support, which can only be found in Android 4.3, to fully interact with another device.
Carrier-tied devices, such as those on AT&T's or Verizon's network, will most likely have to wait longer until the network approves the firmware for distribution. We'll simply have to wait and see if Galaxy Gear connectivity is important enough for carriers to speed up their update development.
Samsung has already started testing for the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 updates, and it probably won't be long until leaked builds begin making their rounds on the Internet. Stay tuned to Latinos Post for more information on Samsung Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 updates as it becomes available.
