Microsoft has launched the next generation Surface Pro tablet, less than a year after the launch of the Surface with Windows 8 Pro.
The Redmond-based organization announced the Surface Pro 2 tablet on Sept. 23 with a starting price $100 higher than the original Surface Pro.

The display for the two Surface Pro tablets is the same with 10.6-inch ClearType HD screen at 1,920x1,080 resolution and 10-point multi-touch.
When it comes to memory, the Surface with Windows 8 Pro is available in 64GB and 128GB internal storage models with 4GB of RAM. The Surface Pro 2 will be available in four internal storage models of 64GB and 128GB with 4GB of RAM, as well as 256GB and 512GB with 8GB of RAM.
The new Surface Pro 2 tablet utilizes the Windows 8.1 Pro operating system while the predecessor Surface Pro has the Windows 8 Pro.
The CPU for the Surface Pro 2 runs on the fourth-generation Intel Core i5 processor while the Surface Pro uses the third-generation Intel Core i5 processor with Intel HD Graphics 4000.
The wireless connectivity for the two Surface tablets is the same with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and low-energy Bluetooth 4.0 technology.
The camera specifications also remain the same with the rear and front-facing cameras keeping the 720p HD cameras.
The starting price of the original Surface with Windows 8 Pro tablet is $799 for the 16GB model, and $899 for the 64GB variant. The Surface Pro 2's price starts at $899 for the 64GB model, $999 for 128GB, $1,299 for 256GB, and $1,799 for the 512GB model.
